An unexpected thing you'll want to optimize for LLM visibility


This came up in one of the sessions of the SEO for LLMs course:

Setting up a good favicon is important 🔥

Why?

Because when LLMs mention you, they also show your favicons along with the link to your website.

And this favicon is a great way to capture attention, and it is also a great brand identifier.

Here is an example from ChatGPT:

What's next?

Fevicon is such an old-school part of SEO.

So here are a few things that you can do right now to make sure that your brand identity is present and consistent across LLMs:

  1. Go to different LLMs and trigger the result that would mention your website (it can be as simple as "what is" and your brand name)
  2. See if your favicon is displayed
  3. Check if it is consistent across the LLMs
